Important: because Excel is confused by cells beginning with - or + the significance markers put out to CSV tables are now always preceded by a space.

For example a marker of "aB" will now be output as " aB".

QPSMR Reflect databases are now file type .qrfx.  Users are advised to use Companion Reflect which can process both .qrf and .qrfx files.

Note: CATI Projects with more than 1 TELNUM need Telin 2018.1b or above.

The QPSMR Companion should be used instead of Insight or CATI for everything except:

  • CATI reports. But use Companion for the Sample Index report.

Companion Reflect should be used instead of QPSMR Reflect


Companion also has important features that can be used without a licence:

  • Use a .qpsmrinp Input file to input CAPI/paper data
  • Use a .qpsmran Analysis file produce simple tables and distinction analysis with Data Drill Down
  • Use a .qrf or .qrfx Reflect database to produce tables

Companion separate programs that are free to use:

  • Companion Reflect for producing speadsheet tables on Windows
  • Companion Input for entering CAPI/paper data on Windows
  • Companion Input for entering CAPI/paper data on Android

  • Up to 15 digits can be used for integers (use DJ instead of DI in CL if more than 9 digits)
  • Up to 3 telephone numbers can be used to retrieve CATI sample records using a Winsock dialler.

  • CSV tables with separate row for column identifiers now show additional (+...+) columns beings tested
